CCTV / Video Surveillance Design
Camera placement, coverage planning and system architecture for video surveillance projects — before installation begins.
LVWave designs video surveillance systems for commercial projects — working out camera locations, coverage, and how the system connects to your network before anyone starts installing.
Project Requirements
Every design starts with the property's actual security and monitoring needs — what areas need coverage, what the footage will be used for, and any constraints specific to the site (existing construction, tenant requirements, aesthetic considerations).
Camera & Device Placement
Camera locations are planned around the areas that need coverage, factoring in field-of-view, mounting height, lighting conditions, and obstructions. The goal is a placement plan that covers what matters without unnecessary camera count.
System Architecture
Design includes the overall system structure — how many cameras, what type (fixed, varifocal, etc. as appropriate to the site), NVR sizing and storage planning, and how the system will be accessed and monitored.
Recording Requirements
Where relevant, design accounts for recording and retention needs — how much storage the expected camera count and resolution will require, and how that maps to NVR capacity.
Coordination with Cabling & Network Infrastructure
Camera systems run on physical cabling and network infrastructure. Design work is coordinated with structured cabling design and network planning so camera locations, cable pathways, and network capacity are worked out together rather than discovered during installation.
New Construction & Renovation
For new construction, camera and cabling locations can be planned before walls close. For renovations, design accounts for existing infrastructure and works around what's already in place.
