Structured Cabling Design

LVWave plans structured cabling systems for commercial projects — where outlets go, how cable gets there, and how the whole system ties back to your telecom spaces.

Telecommunications Outlets

Outlet locations are planned around how each space will actually be used — workstations, wireless access points, cameras, and other devices that need a physical connection — rather than a fixed count applied everywhere.

Horizontal & Backbone Infrastructure

Design covers both the horizontal cabling that runs to individual outlets and the backbone infrastructure that connects telecom spaces to each other and to the main distribution point.

Copper & Fiber Planning

Where appropriate for the distance, bandwidth needs, or building layout, design planning includes whether a run should be Cat6/Cat6A copper or fiber-optic cable — including where a fiber backbone makes sense between telecom rooms.

Pathways

Cable needs a route — conduit, cable tray, or other pathway — planned around the building's actual construction, not assumed after the fact. This is worked out alongside the outlet and backbone plan, not separately.

Telecom Spaces & Distribution

Design includes planning for the telecom spaces (MDF/IDF) themselves — where they're located, how they connect to each other, and how they support the outlets and backbone that depend on them.

Documentation

Coordination with Other Low-Voltage Systems

Structured cabling is the physical foundation for CCTV, wireless access points, and network equipment. Design work is coordinated with those systems so pathway and outlet planning accounts for what will actually run on the cabling.
